Solar Farm
The Singleton solar farm, the largest solar farm in the southern hemisphere, was commissioned in 1998 with the support of a grant from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA). The 2.75 hectare solar farm (the size of about 5 football fields), produces enough electricity (400kW) each year to power about 100 homes.
The solar farm produces 550,000 kilowatt hours of electricity which is used to supply public demand for Green Power. The clean solar power produced by the farm will eliminate the need to produce 550 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year via traditional means of electricity production.
Access the Solar Farm from Camp Road, Singleton.
